One lane in each direction will remain open to traffic at all times.  Both the northbound and southbound lanes from Howard to Oakton Streets and the northbound lanes from Devon Avenue to Howard Street will be reconstructed.  All of the work from Howard to Oakton Streets will be completed in 2014 except for permanent signal work by the CTA Yellow line crossing. During the 2014 - 2015 winter season construction will cease and two lanes in each direction, all turn lanes and streets will be open.

Southbound lane reconstruction from Touhy Avenue to Devon Avenue, permanent signal work at the railroad crossing and all other work to complete this project. During Stage 2, the west side lanes will be closed and traffic will be shifted to the east side. At the railroad crossing, the traffic will shift to the center lanes and the outermost lanes will close for construction activity. During Stage 3, the center lanes will be closed and traffic will shift to the outermost lanes.
